RESOLUTION NO. 28-77 A RESOLUTION OF AUTHORIZATION FOR PARTICIPATION IN JOINT PURCHASING AGREEMENTS " WHEREAS, the Northwest Municipal Conference is an organization representative of municipalities, townships, and other units of local government, chartered with- in the State of Illinois and the County of Cook, pursuant to Article VII, Section 10, of the Constitution of th.e State of Illinois; and WHEREAS, Chapter 85, Section 1601 through 1605 inclusive of the 1967 Illinois Re- vised Statutes, authorizes a..'tly governmental unit to purchase personal property , supplies and services jointly with other governmental units; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is a governmental unit as defined in the Illinois Revised Statutes; and WHEREAS, arrangements have been made by the Northwest lVlunicipal Conference staff for possible joint purchase agreements with the City of Chicago and/or other members of the Northwest Municipal Conference; and WHEREAS, the Village of l\fount Prospect may find it economical to purchase goods or services at prices obtained through competitive bidding by the City of Chicago or through negotiations and/or investigations by the Northwest Municipal Conferene NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the illage of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois: SECTION ONE: That the Village Manager is hereby authorized to enter into agree- ents on behalf of this municipality for joint purchasing with authorized units of government undel' the Law, including the City of Chicago, County of Cook and ther municipalities in the Northwest Municipal Conference. SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk transmit certified copies of this resolution o the Purchasing Agent of the City of Chicago and to the Northwest Municipal onference office. ECTION THREE: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and fter its passage, approval and publication as prescribed by law. YES: 5 o ASSED this 19th day of July , 1977.
