I i I I !I WHEREAS, a special referendum election was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, on Saturday, October 1, 1977, for the purpose of submitting to the voters of the Village of Mount Prospect, of the question of issuing $850,000 public library bonds and the question of increasing annual library tax rates from 0.15% to 0.284%; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have canvassed the votes cast at the said election and are ready to report herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That said special referendum election of October 1, 1977, was duly held as provided by law. That in as much as the greatest number of votes (3,381) were cast "NO" on the proposition, "Shall bonds in the amount of $850,000.00 be issued by the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, for the purpose of paying the cost of acquiring additional library materials, such materials consisting of additional books, periodicals, iums, re- cordings, electronic data storage and retrieval facilites, and similar materials, said bonds to bear interest at the rate of not to exceed seven per cent (7%) per annum?" , that question and bond issue is hereby de- clared to be defeated. B . That in as much as the greatest number of votes (3,645) were cast "NO" on the proposition, "Shall the annual library tax for the main- tenance and operation of a free public library in the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, be increased from 0.15% to 0.284% of full fair cash value of the property in the said Village, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Local Government Affairs of the State of Illinois?" , that question and tax rate increase is hereby declared to be defeated. ~ SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
