HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 37-77 10/04/1977 RESOLUTION NO. 37-77 A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE REZONING OF THE I ROB ROY COUNTRY CLUB I WHEREAS. there is presently pending before the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals an application for amendment to the Cook County Zoning Ordinance from Single Family to General Residence District of the land commonly known as the Rob Roy Cpuntry Club, located north of Euclid Avenue, east of Wheeling Road, and south of Camp McDonald Road; and WHEREAS, said proposal has been docketed and heard as Docket No. 2982 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect lie adjacent to and, therefore, within Ii miles of the land affected (the Rob Roy Country Club); and I WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have observed the said application for map amendment as well as the proposed use to be constructed upon the subject property; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have made certain findings and recommendations relative to the aforesaid application; and ~ WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect are of I the opinion that opposition to the proposed rezoning of the Rob Roy Country Club is in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect and the citizens of Cook i County; and . WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect desire to exercise their authority and to file this formal objection in opposition to the proposed amendment as authorized by the statutes of the State of Illinois and the Ordinance of the County of Cook, made and provided; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: I SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount l Prospect, having reviewed the proposed zoning reclassification of the Rob Roy I Country Club, finds as follows: A. That the proposed development would contain 995 dwelling units, which amounts to a density of over twice the density currently allowable under the current Single Family District for which the property is presently zoned; B. That the proposed development does not offer or preserve sufficient open space thereby contradicting established land use plans for the area to be maintained. as a public recreational facility; and C. That the construction of the proposed project along with its density would be highly detrimental to the citizens of the Village of Mount Prospect as well as the citizens of Cook County and would aggravate present traffic conditions in the area. \1, I SECTION TWO: That the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois I does hereby oppose the amendment to the Cook County Zoning Ordinance I so as to rezone the 180 acre Rob Roy Country Club from Single Family I, Residential to General Residential, as proposed under the Cook County "Zoning Board of Appeals Docket 'No. 2983. II SECTION THREE: That immediately upon the passage and spproval of this i'resolution, the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be and he is I authorized and directed to file certified copies of this resolution with the County Clerk of Cook County, with the Secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, with the members of the Zoning Board of Appeals of "II Cook County, and with the President of the Board of Commissioners of Cook I, County . i I SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and I after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
