AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE I OF
(~HAPTER 25 OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, IN
EXERCISE OF THEIR HOME RULE POWER AS FOLLOWS:
SECTION ONE: That Article 1 entitled "Title; Interpretation" of Chapter 25 of the Village
Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further amended by adding thereto a
Section 25.107; so that hereafter Section 25.107 of Article 1 of Chapter 25 shall be and
read as follows:
25.107. Severability Clause. ff any chapter, section, subsection, subdivision,
paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase of this Village Code or any part thereof or
any other ordinance of the Village is for any reason held to be unconstitutional or
invalid or ineffective by any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not
affect the validity or effectiveness of the remaining portions of this Code or
particular ordinance, or any part thereof. The Village Board of Trustees hereby
declares that it would have adopted each chapter, section, subsection, subdivision,
paragraph, sentence, clause or phrase thereof irrespective of the fact that any one
or more chapters, sections, subsections, subdivisions, paragraphs, sentences,
clauses or phrases be declared unconstitutional, invalid or ineffective.
SECTION TWO: mi pdor ordinances and resolutions in conflict or inconsistent herewith
are hereby expressly repealed only to the extent of such conflict or inconsistency.
SECTION THREE: This ordinance shall be in full force and effect upon its passage,
approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
