HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 2076 05/21/1968 ~ ! ~ ~- ORDINANCE NO. 2076 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPrER 5, ARTICLE X, OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE WHEREAS, the Fire and Police Committee of the Village of Mount Prospect held a Public Hearing on April 26, 1968 at the Village Hall regarding the number of members of the Youth Commission; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Motmt Prospect have determined that a reduction in the size of the member- ship of the Youth Commission is for the best interests of the Village of Motmt Prospect; NO\.J, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1: 'That Chapter 5, Article X, Section 5.1001 and Section 5.1002 of the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect, 1957, as amended, is hereby further amended, and said Sections shall be and read as follows: Section 5.1001. Creation and Appointment. There is hereby created a Youth Commission for the Village of Mount Prospect. The Youth Commission shall consist of nine (9) members to be appointed by the President with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect. In addition, one (1) member shall be appointed by the Village Manager of the Village of Mount Prospect, which member shall be a full-time employee of the Village of Mount Prospect and shall serve in the Youth Commission as an ex-officio member thereof with no vote. One (1) additional member shall be an elected official of the Village of Mount Prospect, which member shall be appointed by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect and shall serve in the Youth Commission as an ex-officio member thereof with no vote. Section 5.1002. Terms of Office: Vacancies. (a) All voting members of the Youth Commission shall serve for three (3) year terms or until their successors are appointed and qualified; provided, however, that three (3) voting members shall be initially appointed for three (3) year terms: three (3) voting members shall be initially appointed for two (2) year terms; and three (3) voting members shall be initially appointed for one (1) year terms. (b) The ex-officio members shall serve for terms of one (1) year. (c) Members may succeed themselves. SECTION 2: All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict here- with are hereby repealed. SECTION 3: This Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law. AYES: NAYS: 4 2 --) / PASSED AND APPROVED this
