AN ORDlNANCR PROVIDING FOR THE LEVY OF AN ADDITIONAL
TAX FOR STREBr AND BRIDGE PURPOSES FOR TtlB FISCAL

WImREAS, pursuant to the Illinois, Revised Statutes, Sect ion 696a.
of Chapter 24, a village. is empowered to levy an annual street and bridge
tax of not more than 006 percent of the full fair cash value of taxable
property in said village, as equal bed or assessed by the Department of
Revenue ,subject to other provisions of the Illinois law; and
WHBUAS" a village may, by three-fourths vote of the members:
elected to the. Board of Trustees, levy all a.dditional tax for street and:
bridge. purpoSeS at the. rate of not to exceed ..04166 percent of the full
fair cash value of taxable property wit.hin said village, as equalized or
assessed by the. Department of Revenue.; and
WHEREAS. additional funds are re.quired for street and bridge pur-
poses in order to properly maintain same;
NOW, TmRBFORE, BE 11.' ORDAINED BY 'mE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COtJNTY, ILLINOIS It
SEctION 10 That an additional tax of ,,04166 percent of th.e full
fair cash value, 'cl&equalize.d or assessed by the. Department of Revenue~ of
all taxable property within the Village of Mount j?rospeet~ Cook County,
Illinois. be levied for the fiscal year May 1, 1968 and ending April 30,
1969, for street and bridge purposes; said tax to be in addit ion to a tax
levy at the rate of .. 06 percent of the full fair cash value of the property
in said Village.
SBC'1'ION 2. That said street and bridge-tax be. in addU;ion to
taxes levie.d for the general corporate purposes..
SECTION 3. That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage and approval according to law..
SECTION 4. 'l'b.at t.he Village Clerk shall file a certified copy
of this Ordinance with the County Clerk of Cook County,Illinois, a.long
with the tax levy ordinance of the Villa.ge of Mount Prospect for the fiscal
year cO!llD8ncing May 1, 1968 and ending April 30,1 1969..
