Chairperson Powers called the meeting to order at 5:46 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of February 3, 2020.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of March 2, 2020.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Busse, Claussen, Knee Nays: None Abstain: Powers Motion Carried
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of March 3, 2020.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.

FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Fire Chief Lambel reported Vito Laporta is off probation. Candidate Megan Bacon has requested to be removed from
the List of Candidates. Chairman Powers asked if there was a date for the new hire test with the testing company,
I/O Solutions. The Fire Department is also looking to revise the interview questions for the next new hire test.
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Koziol provided the Board with the dates for the Sergeants Test Orientation, Merit and Efficiency,
Written test and Assessment Center. Chief Koziol reported the police department is scheduled to move
to the new building the second week of June.
CLOSED SESSION
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity.
2. To Approve the Closed Session Minutes of February 3, 2020, March 2, 2020 & March 3, 2020.
A motion was made by Commissioner Busse and seconded by Commissioner Knee to go into Closed Session at
5:59 P.M.

The Board returned to Open Session at 6:34 p.m. and Commissioner Bork joined the meeting.
Roll Call: Chairperson Powers, Commissioner Bork, Commissioner Knee, Commissioner Claussen, and
Commissioner Busse
CLOSED SESSION ITEM
Chairperson Powers asked for a motion to allow Chief Lambel to pass over the top candidate and go to
the next candidate in the top 5% until a candidate is available and has the prerequisite of the certification.
A motion was made by Commissioner Knee and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Powers Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
Chief Lambel mentioned the passing of former Commissioner Hinaber
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner
Claussen to adjourn the meeting at 6:40 p.m.
