ORDINANCE NO. 2181
AN ORDINANCE INCPEASING THE NUNICIPAL SERVICE OCCUPATIONAL TAX
v.,THEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Illinois, in its last legis-
lati ve session, adopted into law the increase to be imposed as to the
Mmicipal Service Occupational Tax; and
wlIEREAS, provisions contained in such recently adopted law provide for the
local mmicipali ties to benefit from the revenue gained in the increased
tax; and
WHEREAS, on July 18, 1967 the President and Board of Trustees of the Village
of Momt Prospect passed and approved Ordinance No. 2913; and
\\1HEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Momt
Prospect would best be served;
NOH, THEFE'FORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUsrEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That a tax is hereby imposed upon all persons engaged in this
m\IDicipality in the business of making sales of service at the rate of one
per cent of the cost price of all tangible personal property or in the form
of real estate as an incident to a sale of service, in accordance with the
provisions of Section 8-11-5 of the Illinois Municipal Code.
SEG.rION TtvO: That every supplier or serviceman required to acco\IDt for
lVI'micipal Service Occupation Tax for the benefit of this mmicipality shall
file, on or beforethe last day of each calendar n:onth, the report to the
State Department of Revenue required by Section Nine of the "Service
Occupation Tax Act", approved July 10, 1961, as amended.
SECTION THREE: That at the time such report is filed, there shall be paid
to the State Department of Revenue the amount of tax hereby imposed.
SECTION 'FOUR: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to transJT1it to the
State Department of Revenue a certified copy of this Ordinance not later
than five (5) days after the effective date of this Ordinance.
SECTION FIVE: That this Ordinance shall be pub lished ",Ii thin ten (10 days of
its enactment as provided in Section 1-2-4 of the Illinois Municipal Code and
shall be effective from and after the first day of October, 1969.
SEG.rION SIX: That Ordinance No. 2013, PASSED July 18, 1962, is hereby re-
pealed effective October 1, 1969.
