PAVEMENT EVALUATION REVIEW CONSULTANT Pursuant to prior Village Board discussions, the administration has requested proposals from three experienced engineering firms to review the work prepared by Novak & Dempsey and to make suggestions for appropriate. road maintenance strategy for the Village of Mount Prospect, Distributed With the agenda are proposals from Black & Veatch, HTNB and Metcalf & Eddy. The costs for performing the study based upon the request for proposals is tabulated as follows: L HTNB $19,650 Black & Veatch $19,900 Metcalf & Eddy $23,982 Each of the firms has substantial experience and staff resources to perform the evaluations and prepare the recommendations. Also attached for your review is a copy of the request for proposal that was submitted to the various engineering firms. If the Committee of the Whole decides to move ahead with this program, then the selected consulting firm could be acknowledged formally at the next regularly scheduled Village Board meeting. Funding for this program will come from the various MFT accounts where actual contract costs have come in lower than budget estimates. V. PUBLIC WORKS FACILITY In May of this year the Mayor and Board of Trustees agreed to continued discussion regarding, future planning and evaluation for the need of a Public Works facility. Enclosed for your review are documents regarding this topic previously distributed including an analysis prepared in 1981 and subsequent memos dated 1982 and 1984. VI. SIGN ORDINANCE ENFORCEMENT With the advent of the Village sign ordinance in 1983, we have been attempting to secure compliance with the ordinance for existing and C2 new buildings. We are able to recognize a distinct improvement of signage within the community but there remains an opportunity for greater success.
