Pursuant to a prior Committee of the Whole meeting, explora-
tory discussions were conducted by Mr. Hess of the Library
and Trustee Floros of the Village to establish a procedure
for measuring support of an Arts and -Cultural Commission.
Mr. Hess and Mr. Floros discussed a number of options at a
meeting in September and are prepared to give the' Mayor and
Board of Trustees an update,
V. MAGNUS FARM
The Village has been notified that the Arlington Heights
Planning Commission will formally review the Magnus Farm
proposal on Wednesday, October 30. The staff has prepared
an analysis of the most recent plan and that description is
attached to the Agenda.
Basic Village concerns center around densities, siting of
the buildings, drainage and access. A number of residents
in that area both from the Village of Arlington Heights and
the Village of Mount Prospect have expressed similar
concerns.
Courtesy notices have been sent to the Mount Prospect
residents informing them of the Arlington Heights meeting on
October 30 and they are being encouraged to attend that
meeting. The Magnus Farm plan has such significant impact
upon the Village of Mount Prospect that - it is necessary, in
the Manager's opinion, that we make a formal appearance at
their meeting of October 30.
The purpose of the Committee of the Whole meeting is to
review the staff assessment, modify it as the Board members
may see fit and agree whether or not a formal appearance and
filing should by made by the Village of Mount Prospect.

VI. CHICAGO AND NORTH WESTERN RAILROAD -STATION IMPROVEMENTS
When the Railroad motif ied the Village that Pursuant to our
existing lease agreement t-ftey would be re-roo-c"ing cfte train
station, the staf'r'* was instructed to explore racade improve-
ments at the stat Lon to coincide with the re -rooting and
genera )Iatform ifi-iprovements. The V4,..Ilage's
architect then prepared a rendering of these facade improve-
ments and the staff began to secure cost estimates.
