Acting Chairperson Busse called the meeting to order at 5:43 p.m.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Acting Chairperson Busse asked for a motion to approve the Open Session minutes of July 1, 2019.
A motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner Claussen.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Claussen, Knee Nays: None Abstain: Busse MoLlon Carried
FIRE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Deputy Chief Dolan reported the two new hires start the academy next Monday, and he briefly reported
on the progress of the new building. I
POLICE DEPARTMENT UPDATE
Chief Koziol provided a brief report on the new recruits in field training. With one person left on the
Sergeants List, Chief Koziol would like to have a discussion regarding a new test at a future meeting.
DISCUSS , LANGUAGE CHANGE TO BOARD OF FIRE AND POLICE COMMISSIONERS, RULES AND
REGULATIONS
Chief Koziol reported the probationary period for an officer is currently two (2) years from certification or
from the date of hire if you are already an officer. He discussed the possibility of going two years from the
date of hire not two years from, their graduation, with the option to extend probation if needed. Chief
Koziol will bring this topic to the Board once he has more information,
CLOSED SESSION
Acting Chairperson Busse asked for a motion to go into closed session:
1. Personnel 5 ILCS 120/2 (c) (1) -The appointment, employment, compensation, discipline,
performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, including hearing
testimony on a complaint lodged against an employee to determine its validity
2. To Approve the Closed Session Minutes of July 1, 2019

A motion was made by Commissioner Claussen and seconded by Commissioner Bork to go into Closed Session at
6:08 P.M.
Roll Call: Ayes: Bork, Busse, Claussen, Knee, Nays: None Abstain: None Motion Carried
The Board returned to Open Session at 6:14 p.m.
Roll Call: Acting Chairperson Busse, Commissioner Bork, Commissioner Knee and Commissioner
Claussen
Acting Chairperson Busse reminded the Board about the Illinois Fire and Police Commissioners
Conference, and if they plan to attend, to please send their forms in.
With no further business, a motion was made by Commissioner Bork and seconded by Commissioner
Knee to adjourn the meeting at 6:17 p.m.
