ORDINANCE NO. 2215
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECI'ION 21.1213b OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE
NOW', THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT' AND BOARD OF TRUSTEF13 OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNI' PROSPECI', COOK COUNI'Y, ILLINOIS: I!
SECI'ION ONE: 'lhat subsection b of Section 21.1213 - Thermal Insulation -- of
the Municipal Code of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, be and is hereby
further amended by adding thereto provisions for insulating heating ducts and
pipes in unheated attics i so ,that the said subparagraph b of the said Section
21.1213 shall hereafter be and read as follows:
I! (b) In unheated crawl spaces and attics, insulate ducts and pipes
as follows:
(1) Warm air ducts and plenum shall be covered with
insulation material with a ~inimum thickness of
two (2) inches.
(2) Return air ducts covered with insulation material
of a minimum thickness of one (1) inch.
(3) Sewer and water supply pipes shall be covered with
an insulation material with a minimum thickness of
one (1) inch.1!
SECI'ION TWO: 'lhat this ordinance be in full force and effect from and after
its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
