ORDINANCE NO. 2219
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 5.703 OF THE
MUNICIPAL COBE
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF rvrDmrr PROSPECI', COOK COUNTY j ILLINOIS:
SECI'ION ONE: That paragraphs a and b of Section 5.703 of the IVUnicipal Code
of Mount Prospect of 1957, as amended, be further amended by making accurate
reference to the Illinois IVUnicipal Code and by stating a time schedule for
appointments made by the Board of Fire and Police COmmissioners, so that here-
after the said paragraphs a and b shall be and read as follows:
Section 5.703 Duties.
"(a) The Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall have those
duties as are prescribed by the Illinois Statutes, Chapter 24 *
Sections 10-2.1-1 through 29. and any amendments thereto \>.rhich
may hereafter be adopted;
(b) Upon the -corporate authorities' passage of an appropriate
resolution ~ iilcreasing the number of officers and members of the
Police and Fire Departrnents of the Village of Mount Prospect * the
Board of Fire and Police Commissioners shall appoint all officers
and members of the Fire and Police Departments of the mtmicipality
except the Chief of Police and Chief of Fire Depart'ment, each of
who shall be appointed by the Village IVJanager pursuant to Chapter
4 of this Code."
SECTION 'NO: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law.
