COFFEE WITH COUNCIL
TRUSTEES' ROOM, VILLAGE HALL
MAY 11, 1991
Present at Coffee with Council were Mayor Farley, Trustees Clowes,
Hoefert, and Wilks, along with Village Manager Dixon and Fire
Chief Cavello.
Mr. Tom Hames, 305 S. William (255-2464) was present to discuss
problems he experienced while having sewer work done on his
property. Mr. Hames stated that he was plagued by poor drainage
which was caused by sewer lines that were clogged with roots. Mr.
Hames contracted with a company to do the job. The project
required the contractor to tear up the street in front of his
property. His chief concern resulted because he was responsible
for paying for the street repair. Mr. Dixon explained the
Village's policy as it pertains to residents responsibilities as
addressed in local ordinance which has been in effect for many
years and the fact that this policy is consistent with similar
policies in surrounding communities. Mr. Hames was also concerned
about contractors not being required to remove a clay pile from
his property. Mayor Farley agreed that most citizens would not be
aware that removal should be stipulated in the contract. The
Mayor suggested that staff check the permit process to see if
something could be done at that time.
There being no further discussion, the meeting was dismissed.
