Trustee Arthur chaired the meeting. Also attending were Trustees Busse and Corcoran, Village Manager John Fulton Dixon, Assistant Village Manager John Burg, and Director of Inspection Services, Chuck Bencic. Residents attending the meeting and items discussed were: 1) Emily Novak - 1809 E. Euclid Ave. Ms. Novak has heard the County is going to do improvement to Euclid Ave. between Wolf & River Rds. She objects to any improvement being done especially if it includes widening the road. Ms. Novak also objected to the new real estate sales tax the Village adopted. She thought the tax was on the seller. Trustee Corcoran explained to her the tax was on the buyer not the seller. Trustee Arthur suggested we put another article in the Village Newsletter about the tax. RE: COFFEE WITH COUNCIL 10/13/90 Page 2 2) Gussi Dietrich - 1303 Thayer Mrs. Dietrich had questions and comments .on the yard waste program. She felt that all the towns in the area should have similar pick-up programs. She did not like the fact that Arlington Heights residents only paid for the bags while Mount Prospect residents had to pay the cost of the pick-up as part of the price of the bag. Trustee Corcoran tried to explain to Mrs. Dietrich why there were different methods of accessing charges for the yard waste programs. Mrs. Dietrich also complained that BFI had four trucks pass her house and none of them picked up some branches she had in front. Apparently they were not tied with string and the truck driver told her he could lose his job if he picked up bundles of brush if they were not tied properly. Trustee Corcoran asked John Burg to talk with BFI about our requirements for containers and type of material used to tie brush. 3) Dave Schein - 512 Na-Wa-Ta Mr. Schein stopped in to see if' there was any discussion on the flood studies. He was informed of the meeting on the Fairview Highland area and he pointed out some of the original drainage ways in that area to the trustees. Coffee With Council adjourned at approximately 11:30 A.M. Chuck Bencic CB:rm cc: File
