MOUNT PROSPECT FIREMENS PENSION FUND BOARD
AUGUST 7, 1987
CALL TO ORDER
President Cavello called the meeting to order at 8:15 A.M..
ROLL CALL
Present upon roll call: Chief Edward Cavello, President
Richard Jesse, Treasurer
Delbert Ulreich, Firefighter
Randy Werderitch, Firefighter
Ron Olsen, Firefighter
Donald Barra, Retired Firefighter
Carol Fields, Secretary/Village Clerk
Absent: Carolyn Krause, Mayor
Village Attorney
This meeting was called to consider the request for a duty
related disability pension from Ronald Olsen.
This matter has been the subject of previous discussion, however
due to the fact that all 3 medical examinations reports had not
been received no action could be taken. Those reports have been
received, a copy of each is attached to these minutes.
It was noted that Ron Olsen has been experiencing problems with
his back which is reported as duty incurred. Ron had been
directed to secure medical opinions from 3 physicians. Two
doctors were named by a member of the Medical Committee, Dr.
Charles Magee and Dr. Orr with the 3rd opinion to be accepted
from Ron's personal physician, Dr. John Shea. A copy of those
Medical reports are attached to these minutes.
The subject of whether or not a sworn firefighter could be
re -assigned to the Code Enforcement Department was brought up
again. It was the concensus of the Board that a legal opinion be
requested as to whether a sworn member of the Fire Department
could, if a position was available, be transferred or re -assigned
to the Code Enforcement Department. It was noted that there is
an opening for an Electrical Inspector and Ron Olsen is a
licensed electrician.
This request was continued until the legal opinion is received.
Carol Fields, seconded by Richard Jesse, moved to adjourn the
meeting.
