HomeMy WebLinkAbout01/17/1983 FFPB MinutesMINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT FIREMENS' PENSION FUND BOARD JANUARY 17, 1983 CALL TO ORDER Secretary Carol Fields called the meeting to order, in the absence of the President at 7:30 P.M. Present upon roll call: Richard -Jesse, Treasurer Ron Olson, Firefighter Del Ulreich, Firefighter Lt. D. Barra, Firefighter Carol A. Fields, Village Clerk/Secretary Also Present: Deputy Fire Chief, J. Hilliger Absent: Lawrence A. Pairitz, Fire Chief/President Carolyn H. Krause, Mayor Attorney George Cullens, Retired Firefighter Nominations were°:opened for the position of President Pro -Tem. Carol Fields, seconded by Lt. D. Barra, moved to nominate Richard Jesse as President Pro -Tem. There being no further nominations, Lt. D. Barra, seconded by Carol Fields, made a motion for Richard Jesse to sit as President Pro -Tem. Upon roll call, the motion carried unanimously. APPROVAL OF MINUTES Lt. D. Barra, seconded by Del Ulreich, moved to approve the minutes of the last regular meeting of the Pension Board held July 1'8; 1982. -Upon roll call, all those in attendance voted Aye. Motion declared carried. TREASURER'S REPORT Treasurer Richard Jesse presented his report. Carol Fields, seconded by Del Ulreich, moved to accept the Treasurer's Report. Upon roll call the motion carried unanimously. There was discussion on the subject of monies levied by the Village as their share of the Pension Fund, noting that the recommendation of the Department of Insurance in the amount of $361,457, based on the date -provided for the period ending April 30, 1982, that this amount is considerably less than that was recommended and levied for the prior year. Therefore, it was suggested that the Pension Fund request the Village to levy the increased amount in excess of the $361,457. Page 2 of 2 Del Ulreich, seconded by Lt. D. Barra, moved to forward the request, as outlined in a memorandum from Del Ulreich to the Village Board, said memorandum to be prepared by Del Ulreich. Upon roll call: Ayes: Ron Olson, Del Ulreich, Lt. D. Barra, Carol Fields Nays: Richard Jesse Motion carried. COMMITTEE REPORTS Medical Committee"- No report. Finance Committee - No report. OLD BUSINESS It was noted that the position presently held by Lt. D. arra will expire and an election will :be held to fill the reap position. The results will be announced at the next meeting as well as the seating of the new member. Richard Jesse, seconded by Lt. D. Barra, moved to authorize the Pension Fund to pay the $30.00 Associate Membership fee in the Illinois Professional Firefighters Association for Secretary Carol Fields. Upon roll call: Ayes: Unanimous ADJOURNMENT Del Ulreich, seconded by Lt. D. Barra, moved to adjourn the meeting. Upon roll call the motion was carried unanimously.
