ORDINANCE NO. 2229 AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING 2.67 ACRES AT THE SOUTH- EAST CORNER OF LINCOLN STRE1'T AND MEIER ROAD WHEREAS, the land hereinafter described is both contiguous to the Village of !\bunt Prospect and wholly bound on all sides by the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, the said territory is not presently within the boundaries of any muni- cipality; and WHEREAS, the said property comprises less than sixty (60) acres; and WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes. Chapter 24. Section 7-1-13 provide for the armexation of such territory by the Village upon passage of an ordinance pursuant thereto; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect. Cook County, Illinois, find and believe it to be in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect that the said land and territory be armexed thereto; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VIlLAGE OF MOUNT PRCBPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION Ol\i'E: That all land and territory legally described as follows, to-wit: The West 1/2 of lot 1 (except the South 988.31 feet thereof) in Owner's Division. being a subdivision of the Southeast 1/4 (except the West 1/2 of the Southwest 1/14 thereof) of Section 10. Town- ship 41 North. Range 11. East of the Third Principal .rveridian in Cook County, Illinois; which territory is not presently within the boundaries of any IVfunicipality but is in the unincorporated territory of Cook County. is contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect. is wholly surrounded by the Village of Mount Prospect. and co prises 2.67 acres and is, therefore. less than sixty (60) acres in size; be and is hereby armexed to the Village of Mount Propsect so that hereafter said terri- tory shall be included within the boundary lines and limits of the Village of f'ibunt Prospect -- as is by law in such case made and p:rovided. SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance together with an accurate plat of said territory with the Rocorder of Deeds of Cook County, Illinois. SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage. approval, and publication in the marmer provided by law.
