MOUNT PROSPECT CABLE COMMISSION
JUNE 7. 1984
I. CALL TO ORDER
Chairman John Coleman called the meeting to order at
5:40 p.m., in the Trustees' Room of the Village Hall.
II,, ROLL CALL
Present upon roll call: John Coleman and Chuck Bennett.
Absent: Michaele Skowron,'Mary Wager and John Ruckstatter.
Also present was John Bowman, Administrative Assistant
to the Village Manager.
III. GRANT APPLICATION AND AGREEMENT
Commission members discussed final"revisions,_to the
Grant Application and Agreement as suggested by Eric
Anderson of the Northwest Municipal Conference, Carole
Xleinberg of Cablenet and John Bowman of staff. Major
items discussed included the Application schedule,
support material, proposals in a non -video format and
the provision which pertains to projects which realize
a profit.
The Grant Agreement requires that 50% of all profits
realized from the use and distribution of a project shall
be turned over to the Mount Prospect Cable Commission,
not to exceed double the amount of the Grant. Cablenet
staff has expressed concern regarding this provision,
stating that Cablenet will be entitled to a share of
potential profits as well.; The Commission decided to
leave the provision intact since Cablenet is not a party
to the Agreement and projects which generate revenue
would' be unlikely.
IV RESOLUTION TO ESTABLISH THE,;GRANT PROGRAM
Administrative Assistant John Bowman distributed a copy
of the Resolution which will be on the Village Board
Agenda for the regular meeting of June 19. This Resolution
will establish the Public Access Grant Program in the
Village. Bowman also reminded the Commission members that
the Application and Agreement will.be reviewed by the
Village Board at a Committee of the -Whole meeting on
June 12. Commission members are invited to attend. The
meeting will be 'held at 7:30 p.m., in the Board Room of
the Public Safety Building.
V. ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 6:40 p.m.
