SAFETY COMMISSION
March 2, 1981
CALL TO ORDER
The regular meeting of the Mount Prospect Safety Commission was
held in the Village Hall on March 2, 1981. Acting President Art Coy
called the meeting to order at 8: 00 P.M.
ROLL CALL
Present upon roll call: Art Coy, Acting President; Deputy Police
Chief John Savage; Dennis Valentine, Village
Traffic Engineer
Absent: Andrew Mitchell, LeRoy Beening,
Harold Abramowski
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
The minutes of the February 2, 1981 meeting of the Safety Commission
were read and approved.
NEW BUSINESS
Pine Street
After considerable discussion, the Commission requested the
residents to provide a current petition for review. The resdients
in attendance at the meeting presented a case for excessive
parking on the 100 North Pine Street block. The Traffic Engineer
had conducted a parking study and found no excessive parking to
exist during the study period. The Commission withheld action
until the April meeting.
Lonn uist Boulevard
After reviewing the recommendation of the Traffic Engineer and
hearing Mr. Richard Jenness', Principal of Holmes Jr. High School,
request for No Parking restrictions along the northerly side of
Lonnquist Blvd from Crestwood Drive to Meier Road, the
Commission concurred. All residents of the vicinity had been
notified of the proposed action by letter but no objections were
presented.
Edgewood Lane
Mr. Ray Fritz, 804 South Edgewood Lane, presented his case
to the Commission regarding excessive parking caused by
neighbors in the vicinity of his property. It was determined that
the intermittent problem was an enforcement problem of a
nuisance condition.
Owl Heating and ADDlicance, Northwest 1-14 -1
The request for a loading zone designated at 480 W. Northwest Hwy
was dropped from further consideration due to the petitioner not
being present at the meeting.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting was adjourned at 9: 50 P.M.
