Central Road Iml2rovements
The Safety Commission agrees with the Fire Department and recommends
that Opticom equipment be installed at Central and Wolf Roads and
at Central and River Roads when the State widens those intersections.
Lonnquist Boulevard - No Parking
Mr. Richard Jenness Principal of Holmes Junior High School, attended
the Safety Commission meeting to request "No Parking Anytime"
restrictions be imposed on the North and South sides of Lonnquist Blvd.
between Crestwood Lane and Meier Road. Mr. Jenness felt that these
restrictions would force people attending the school activities to park
in the school lot. He also felt that cars parking along Lonnquist Blvd,
which in some places has not been fully widened, does create a
dangerous condition. After considerable discussion and since there
are several residential home that could be affected by these restrictions,
the Commission requestedthe Village Traffic Engineer to notify by mail
those residents that could be affected by the proposal and request
their comments for the next meeting of the Safety Commission.
