OLD BUSINESS
ISABELLA/MAPLE STREETS
Request for a 4 -way stop sign. A motion was made by Art Coy
seconded by Andrew Mitchell.
After considerable discussion and reviewing the numerous
existing stop signs in the area and the present traffic counts
at the intersection provided by Dennis Valentine (Village Traffic
Engineer). The Safety Commission requested that the Village
Engineer take another traffic count of the area. The Safety
Commission also requested that Deputy Police Chief John Savage
review any accident reports! It is reported by residents, that there
are many drivers speeding down Maple Street. Special attention
should be placed on the speeders.
The Safety Commission withheld action until the November meeting.

LINCOLN STREET/BUSSE ROAD - TRAFFIC SIGNAL
A request has been made for a traffic signal installation at
the intersection of Lincoln Street and Busse Road.

NEW BUSINESS
DALE/ISABELLA - REQUEST FOR A CHILDREN CROSSING SIGN
A motion was made by Art Coy - seconded by Lee Beening.
After considerable discussion it is recommended that a
children crossing sign not be posted because the intersection
is already controlled by a regulatory sign specifically a
stop sign. The Safety Commission does recommend that the
enbankment be removed or a guard-rail be installed to prevent
the children riding bicycles down the enbankment onto the street.
It is further recommended that the Police Department continue
to give this intersection special attention as many drivers
fail to make a full stop at the intersection.
GREGORY SCHOOL - NO PARKING SIGNS DURING SCHOOL HOURS
Former Gregory School has been sold to the Christian Life Church
and the signs no longer serve any purpose. Also, the Pastor at
the Christian Life Church requested the same action. -
A motion was made by Art Coy - seconded by Dennis Valentine to
amend the Section 18.2009 of the traffic code by deleting reference
to the north side of Gregory Street between Elm and Williams
Streets. Motion was approved.
LOUIS/'EVERGREENSTOP SIGN
A request has been made for a stop sign at the intersection of
Louis and Evergreen.
