The regular monthly meeting of the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission was held in the
Village Hall on May 5, 1980. The meeting was called to order by Andy Mitchell
at 7:45 PM. Members in attendance were Village Engineer Ben Hemmeter and Deputy
Police Chief John Savage.
Mr. Paul Podjasek of 8 South Owen Street was present and brought to the Commissions
attention that he feels the intersection of Owen and Busse is hazardous. After
reviewing the numerous stop signs and signals at the adjacent corners the members
feel that the best action at this time would be to reduce the speed limit on
Busse from 30 mph to 20 mph on east and west bound Busse from Emerson to Mt.
Prospect Road because of the park and the narrow streets in the area. Do to
a lack of quorum at this meeting no official action could be recommended. However,
the Village Engineer was going to make this request to the Village Police and
Fire Committee.
There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 8:45 PM.
