MOUNT PROSPECT SAFETY COMMISSION
Minutes
December 4, 1978'
The regular monthly meeting of the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission
was held in the Village Hall on December 4, 1978. The meeting was
called to order by Chairman Art Coy at 7:55 P.M. Members present
were: Andy Mitchell, Harold Abramowski, Police Officer Mike Goy,
and Village Traffic Engineer John Sauter.
I. The Commission studied the report submitted by John Sauter
on the proposed 2 -hour parking restrictions on South Pine Street
and Milburn Avenue which included a summary of residents surveyed
and complaints from.the residents. After studying the problems, a
motion was made by Andy Mitchell,to amend Section 18.1320A of the
Village'Traffic Code to include the -west side of Pine'Street
between Milburn and Lincoln and the south side of Milburn between
Pine and Elmhurst to a 2 -hour parking restriction.
Also, the Commission recommends'tha't "No Parking" on the north
side of Milburn between Pine and Elmhurst be added to the Village
ordinance, and that the two blocks on the north side of Milburn
from Main Street to\Pine Street be changed from a 2 -hour parking
ordinance to a "No Parking" ordinance. The Commission feels that this
would be in the best interest of the Village residents, help with
traffic congestion in keeping Milburn open for emergency vehicles,
and also making that area of the Village more uniform parking.
The motion was seconded by Art Coy and passed.
There being no further busiess,'te meeting was adjourned at 9 ..
