MOUNT PROSPECT SAFETY COMMISSION
Minutes
May 1, 1978
The regular monthly meeting of the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission
was held in the Village Hall on May 1, 1978. The meeting was
called to order by Ben Scola, Chairman, at 7:40 p.m. Members
present were: Andy Mitchell, Mike Pekala, Village Traffic Engineer,
Officer Tom Daley, Mt. Prospect Police Department, Fire Chief
Pairitz, Mt. Prospect Fire Department, and John Burneson, National
Safety Council.
I. The minutes of the April meeting were read and approved.
II. Mrs. Mary Rosin of St. Raymond's Church was present and
requested that the current 2 hour parking restrictions on
Milburn between Elmhurst and I -Oka be removed to allow for
teacher parking. After considerable discussion, a motion
was made by Chief Pairitz and seconded by Andy Mitchell that
no changes in the existing ordinances be made at this time.
The Commission recommended that Mrs. Rosin talk to the
Village Manager on other possible solutions.
III. Due to the small response to the Mt. Prospect Safety Commission
Workshop, it was necessary to cancel it. The seven checks
for reservations were returned to the people.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 8:55 p.m.
