ORDINANCE NO. 2272
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING 11.892 ACRES OF COMrvDNWEALTH EDISON
RIGHT-OF-WAY WEST OF ELMHURST ROAD AND NORTH OF DEMPSTER STREEl'
WHEREAS, the land hereinafter described is wholly bounded on all sides
-by the Village of Mount Prospect; and -
WHEREAS, the said territory is not presently within the boundaries of
any municipality; and
WHEREAS, the said property conprises less than sixty (60) acres; and
WHEREAS, the Illinois Revised Statutes, Chapter 24, Section 7-1-13,
provide for the annexation of such territory by the Village upon
passage of an ordinance pursuant thereto; and
WHEREAS, the Pre:;:ddent and Board of Trustees of the _ Yillage of Mount
Prospect.. Cook County, IllinOms, find and believe it to be in the
best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect that the said land
and territory be annexed thereto;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF
THE VILLAGE OF IDUNl' PROSPECT, COOK COUNI'Y, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That all land and territory legally described as follows:
That part of the south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of
Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11, East of the
Third Principal Meridian, described as follows: Begin-
ning at the northeast corner of the south 1/2 of the
southeast 1/4 of Section 14 aforesaid; thence south
along the east line of said southeast 1/4 210.03 feet;
thence west along a ljne 210 feet south of (n:easured
at right angles to) and parallel with the north line
of said south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 for a distance
of 702.09 feet; thence southwesterly for a distance of
1974.69 feet to a point on the west line of said south-
east 1/4 which is 796.92 feet north of the south line
of said Section 14 (as n:easured along said west line of
said southeast 1/4); thence north along the west line
of said southeast 1/4 213.36 feet; thence northeasterly
for a distance of 1953.28 feet to a point on the north
line of said south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of Section
14 which is 723.61 feet west of the northeast corner of
the said south 1/2 of the southeast 1/4 of Section 14;
thence east along the north line of said south 1/2 of
the southeast 1/4 of Section 14, 723.61 feet to the
point of beginning, (excepting from the aforesaid tract
the east 210.0 feet thereof);
which territory is not presently wi thin the boundaries of any munici-
pality, but is in the unincorporated territory of Cook County, is
contiguous to the Village of Mount Prospect, is wholly surrounded
by the Village of Mount Prospect, and comprises 11.892 acres and is,
therefore, less than sixty (60) acres in size; be and is hereby
annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect so that hereafter said
territory shall be included wi thin the boundary lines and limits of
the Village of Mount Prospect--as is by law in such case made and
provided.
SECTION TWO: That the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect
is hereby directed to record a certified copy of this ordinance
together with an accurate plat of said territory with the Recorder of
Deeds of Cook County, Illinois.
SECTION THREE: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner
provided by law.
