ORDINANCE NO. 2280' ,
AN ORDINANCE DECLARING THE NECESSITY OF THE USE OF LAND
ADJACOO 'In THEMOOO PROSPECTLIBRA.R1
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect have determined to purchase a site for use as parking in
conjunction with the Mount Prospect Public Library; and
WHEREAS, said site can be purchaseq for $28,182.39 and $129,000.00
has been appropriated for the acquisition of land this Niscal year;
and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is desirous of cooperating with
its Library Board in its extension of its parking facili,ties; and
WHEREAS, the President and Baord of Trustees of the Village of Mount
Prospect have reviewed the aforesaid matter and are of the opin4lon
that the site proposed to be purchased is need~d to provide additional
parking for the Public Library; and
WHEREAS, the extension of the said parking lot will require the
Village's purchase of p~operty located adjacent to the said parking
lot within the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect;
which land is presently owned by Sch(jQl, District No,. 57 and the Trustees
of Schools -- Township 4~; arid ,"" ' ' :,
WHEREAS, the President and Board of 'Tr'ustees have determined that bonds
shall not be issued for the cost of acquiring said s~te;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE rr 9~AJ:NED BY THE PRESIDENT .AND )30ARD OF TRUSI'EES
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT' PltOSPECT," COOK CQUNrY, ILLINOIS:
SEmON ONE: That the Pl?esident and Board of'IWstees of the Village
of Mount Prospect hereby d$Clare ,it is 1}ecessary for it to use and/or
inprove certain real estate described below for the ~ of public,
inprovements and additiqna1 par'king for its public li'brary, which real
estate is legally aescribed as:'
Lot 8 in Block 4 in Busse ,and Wille's Resubdivisibn in
Mount Prospect in the West half of Section 12, 'TIownship 41
North, Range 11, East of the Third Pl?incipal Meridian.
SEC'TIION '!WO: That the Village of Mount Prospect purqhase the above-
described real properties owned by ,SChool District No. 57, which real,
estate is located Within tl'1ecorporate limits of the Village of Mount
Prospect.
SEC'TI::r;QN THREE: That the p~hase 'price of the aforenentioned property
shall not exceed the sumoI' $28,182.39 and said purchase price shall
be paid to the Board of Educat.n.on of School Dist:r:>ict No., 57, Cook
County, Illinois, a body politic ,and cOl"porat:ion, the Vendpr, from the
funds appropriated for the acquisition of land by the Village of Mount
Prospect.

SECTION FOUR: That legal title to the aforementioned tract shall be
in the name of the "VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPEC'TI, ILLINOIS, a municipal
corporation."
SEm'ION FIVE: That the President of the' Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect is authorized to sign, execute, and deliver
a contract to purchase the aforementioned land (as per copy attached
hereto) pursuant to"'cthe terms and amount aforementioned; and that the
Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospectl$is authorized to attest said
signature.
SECTION SIX: That the aforementioned tract shall be leased to the
Mount Prospect Pubrlic Library for additional Library parking for a
period of not less than ten (10) years at an annual rate not to exceed
five dollars ($5.00) per year, that the President of the Board of
Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby authorized to
sign sa.hd lease agr>eement drawn pursuant to the terms hereinabove
described; and that the Village Clerk is authorized to attest said
signature before said lease.
SEC'TIION SEVEN: That this ordinance shall be in full force and effect
from and after its passage, appmval, and publication in the rranner
providea by law. '
