HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrd 2208 01/06/1970 - ~, ~ ,- ORDINANCE NO. 2208 - AN ORDINANCE GRANTING VARIATIONS FOR PROPERrY LOCATED ON THE SOUTH SIDE OF GOLF ROAD AT THE WESTERLY LIMITS OF THE VILLAGE i iOF MOUNT PROSPECI' WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect held a regular meeting on August 28, 1969, at the hour of 8:00 p.m. in the Mount Prospect Village Hall pursuant to notice published in the Prospect Day on August 4, 1969; and WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals of the Village of Mount Prospect heard testimony presented under Case No. 69-46A pertaining to a request to operate a greenhouse and nursery in connection with a florist shop with incidental parking and signs therefor, in addi- tion to a residence at property comnonly known as 605 East Golf Road (Arlington Heights postal address); and WHEREAS, the Board of Appeals recorrnnended to the Building Comni ttee of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to allow the variations on the use of the subject property for the uses petitioned for; and WHEREAS, the Building Comnittee of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect subsequently met on December 11, 1969, and considered the recommendations of the Board of Appeals under Case No. 69-46A; and M1EREAS, the Building COIl1l1"ittee recommended to the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect to allow the variations as presented; and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of ~Dunt Prospect have reviewed the matter herein and have determined that the sane is for the best interests for the Village of Mount Prospect; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDEl\lT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECI': SECI'ION ONE: That the property being the subject matter of Case No. 69-46A ",being legally described as follows: Lot 10 (except the West 2 acres thereof) in Meier Brothers Subdivision qf parts of Sections 10 and 15, Town 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in Cook County, Illinois.; is currently zoned under the zoning ordinance of the Village of Mount Prospect as R-X (single family residence) which zoning classification shall remain subject to the following granted variations: (a) That the use of the said property may consist of the operation of a florist shop including the operation and maintenance of a greenhouse and nursery, with in- cidental parking therefor. (b) That the use of the said property shall include the right to erect a double faced standard or ground sign advertising the aforementioned florist, greenhouse, and nursery operations.; pursuant to the following fur- ther provisions:~ /~.... ~., " --, ~..... (1) Said sign shall be located upon the westerly half of the front yard of the subject property, but not closer than eighteen (18) feet from both the front and side lot lines thereof; (2) That the said sign shall maintain a clearance of ten (10) feet from the ground to the bottom and shall not exceed a total hei~~t of eighteen (18) feet from the ground to the top of the said sign; and (3) Said double faced sign shall not exceed ninety- six (96) square feet in area per face. (c) That, in addition to the foregoing, this property may continue to be used for residential purposes. SECTION TWO: That all requirements of the Village Code be applicable, except its variations as specified in SEmON ONE heretofore mentioned. SECI'ION THREE: That the Director of Building and Zoning of the Village of r10unt Prospect is hereby directed to issue no " building permits for the expansion or improvement of the buildings beyond the limits and dimensions shown on the survey attached hereto and made a part hereof as Exhibit A; with the exception that nothing herein shall be so deemed as to preclude the issuance of the neces- sary sign permit. SEmON FOUR: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage, approval, and publication in the manner provided by law; and after the approval, execution, and recording of a Plat of Dedication for public streets showing the dedication of the southerly thirty-three (33) feet of the subject property to the Village of Mount Prospect for a public street, known as Grove Drive.
