COMMUNICATIONS AND PETITIONS - CITIZENS TO BE HEARD CENTEL RATE Ken Horvath, 302 Straton Lane, expressed his opposition to the rate increase the ICC recently granted to 'CENTEL/SPRINT', noting that the average phone bill has increased by 54%, contrary to what CENTEL told the ICC. He also stated that the Village of Nile~l.~ has filed a lar~v suit against the ICC stating that the Village did not receive notice of the proposed rate increase case. Mr. Horvath asked if Mount Prospect could join in that lawsuit or take similar action. Village Manager Janonis stated that the Citizens Ufilib/Board (CUB) has filed an appeals to the rate increase in the Appellate Court and that additional legal documentsmay be ~ed in conjunction with this matter. MILBURN An Ordinance was presented for first reading that would grant a variation to allow a shed to be located two feet from the interior side property line, rather than the required 5 foot minimum. The Zoning Board of Appeals recommended granting this request by a vote of 7-0. Trustee Wilk$, seconded by Trustee Corcoran, moved to waive the rule requiring two readings of an Ordinance. ZBA 28-V-94 ZBA 28-V-94, 1418 East Emmerson Lane 1418 E. EMMERSON An Ordinance was presented for first reading that would grant a Page 2 July 19, 1994 concrete pad 14' x 16' with a 12' x 14' shed. It was noted that the edges of the concrete pad should be pitched away from the shed to ensure proper run off and that the bottom plate of the . shed should be constructed with treated lumber. The Zoning Board of ApPeals recommended granting this variation by a vote of 7-0. Trustee Wilks, seconded by Trustee Corcoran, moved to waive the rule requiring two readings of an Ordinance. Mr. Janonis informed the Board that the Haflen Heights storm sawer project had resumed and the project should be completed by November. The Village Mdnager also informed the Board that the Closing had taken place on the Pine/Wille property and that Pontarelli was now the owner of that property. ANY OTHER BUSINESS ' None. TRUSTEE COMMENTS Trustee Wilks noted that the Northwest Municipal Conference was developing a proposed model Parental Responsibility Ordinance. Trustee Henddcks asked if there were any further developments SEMAR/BUSSE in the proposal for Semar Builders to acquire properties on the east ROAD side of Bussa Road and develop those property into a single family DEVELOPMENT home subdivision. The representative of the owner of 115 South Bussa Road stated that an offer had been made on his property, however, the amount wasn't acceptable. It was noted that inasmuch as this subject had been voted on, if the Petitioner wanted to proceed with the development a new ZBA case would have to be filed seeking rezoning and reflecting the legal description of all the properties involved. Truste® Clowes expressed his opposition to an ad taken out by the Northwest Municipal Conference on a political issue, which ad was paid for by the Conference, with means taxpayers actually .paid for the ad.
