RAND ROAD} Access Public Type Action Public Content Information On Wednesday, July 10, the Village Manager, Director of Community Development and Executive Assistant to the Village Manager met with Texas Roadhouse Managing Partner Matt Slezak and Attorney Harlen Powell, regarding a request for the creation of a new Class F-3 liquor license at their newly constructed Rand Road corridor location. The Class F-3 license provides for the full service of alcohol in a restaurant with lounge. Texas Roadhouse, founded in 1993, is an international family chain restaurant that socializes in American cuisine and promotes a Western theme. The Mount Prospect location will be corporate's 611 location, of which 161 are in Illinois. This newly constructed building will be 7,400 square feet with an estimated 60 tables and a seating capacity of 250. Texas Roadhouse specializes in steak, ribs, chicken, seafood and homemade biscuits. Mr. Slezak has extensive knowledge in the food industry and has managed restaurants for over 20 years. The Mount Prospect location is currently hiring for 190 employees and will employ its own baker and butcher. The restaurant ensures that customers will have a legendary experience with wait staff stopping to line dance and customers being served a bucket of peanuts with shells thrown onto the floors. The restaurant will be open seven days a week, serving dinner Monday through Friday and lunch/dinner offered on Saturday and Sunday. Grand opening is scheduled for September 23. Mr. Slezak stated Texas Roadhouse has an in-house certified liquor servers training course and all wait staff will be Basset certified. It was made clear to all present that the restaurant managers were responsible for the actions of all restaurant employees with regard to the service of alcohol. The requirements of the Village's Fight Ordinance were also discussed. Alternatives 1. Motion to approve the Ordinance. 2. Action at discretion of Village Board. Staff Recommendation A completed application as well as other required documentation is on file. All corporate officers have submitted to background checks and fingerprints in association with Texas Roadhouse Holdings, LLC. liquor license. Staff views this application favorably, and an Ordinance creating a new Class F-3 License is recommended.
