AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 18 ENTITLED
'TRAFFIC CODE' OF THE VILLAGE CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That Section 18.2001 entitled "Schedule I - Speed Restrictions" of Chapter
18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further
amended by reducing the speed limit on Busse Avenue for east and westbound traffic
between Main Street and We Go Trail from 30 MPH to 25 MPH, so that the speed limit for
east and westbound traffic between Mount Prospect Road and We Go Trail shall be 25 MPH;
therefore the following citation is hereby deleted "Busse Ave. - East and Westbound - 25 -
Btw. Main St. and Mount Prospect Rd." and substitute in proper alphabetical sequence with
the following "Busse Ave. - East and Westbound - 25 - Between Mount Prospect Rd. And We
Go Tr."; so that hereafter said Section 18.2001 shall include the following:
"Name of Direction of Speed
Street Traffic Movement Limit-MPH Description
Busse Ave. East and Westbound 25 Btw. Mount Prospect Rd.
and We Go Tr."
SECTION TWO: That Section 18.21002 entitled "Schedule II - Prohibited Turns" of Chapter
18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby further
amended by deleting therefrom "Cleven Ave. - Westbound - Right - Weller Ln. During school
hours".
SECTION THREE: That Section 18.21003 entitled "Schedule III - One-Way Streets" of
Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby
further amended by deleting therefrom "Weller Ln. - Southbound - School hours btw. Busse
and Cleven Ave."
SECTION FOUR: That Section 18.2104.A entitled "Schedule IV - Stop and Yield Signs" of
Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby
further amended by deleting therefrom "Wheeling Rd. - North and Southbound - Elderberry
Dr." and adding thereto in proper alphabetical sequence "Wheeling Rd. - Southbound -
Dogwood Ln." and "Wheeling Rd. - Northbound - Dogwood Ln."; so that hereafter said
Section 18.2104.A shall include the following:
"Name of Direction of
Street Traffic Movement At Intersection With
Wheeling Rd. Southbound Dogwood Ln.
Wheeling Rd. Northbound Dogwood Ln."
SECTION FIVE: That Section 18.2104.B entitled "Schedule IV - Stop and Yield Signs" of
Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby
further amended by adding thereto in proper alphabetical sequence "Stratford PI.
Westbound - Meadow Ln." and "Stratford PI. - Eastbound - Wedgewood Ln."; so that
hereafter said Section 18.2104.B shall include the following:
"Name of Direction of
Street Traffic Movement At Intersection With
Strafford PI. Westbound Meadow Ln.
Strafford PI. Eastbound Wedgewood Ln."

SECTION SiX: That Section 18.2105 entitled "Schedule V - No Stopping, Standing or
Parking" of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended,
is hereby further amended by adding in proper alphabetical sequence "Elmhurst Ave. -
East - At any time - The first 180 ft. north of Central Rd."; so that hereafter said Section
18.2105 shall include the following:
"Name of Side of Between
Street Street Hours of Description
Elmhurst Ave. East At any time The first 180 ft north
of Central Rd."
SECTION SEVEN: That Section 18.2107 entitled "Schedule VII - No Parking Any Time"
of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is
hereby further amended by deleting therefrom "Weller Ln. - West - Btw. a point 600 ft. and
800 ft. South of Central Rd. (Loading Zone)".
SECTION EIGHT: That Section 18.2108 entitled "Schedule VIII - Parking During School
Hours" of Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended,
is hereby further amended by deleting therefrom "Weller Ln. - East - Btw. Busse Ave. And
Cleven Ave."
SECTION NINE: That Section 18.201 entitled "Schedule XI - Two Hour Parking" of
Chapter 18 (Traffic Code) of the Village Code of Mount Prospect, as amended, is hereby
further amended by deleting therefrom "Elmhurst Ave. - East - Btw. Central Rd. And Henry
St." and adding thereto in proper alphabetical sequence "Elmhurst Ave. - East - Btw. 180
ft. north of Central Rd and Henry St."; so that hereafter said Section 18.2011 shall include
the following:
"Name of Side of
Street Street Description
Elmhurst Ave. East Btw. 180 ft north of Central Rd.
to Henry St."
SECTION TEN: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after its val
and publication in pamphlet form in the manner provided by law.
AYES: Clowes, Corcoran, Hendricks, Hoefert, Juracek, Wilks
NAYS: None
ABSENT: None
