Minutes
October 7. 2000
Attending: Dale Draznin. Corky Dunn. Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Lit Floros. Jill Friedrichs, Laura Luteri,
Terri Schroeder, Paul Seils
The meeting was called to order by Lit Floros. Minutes of the September 2. 2000 were approved.
Financial Report. Cash balance September 30,2000: $4,028.16.
Welcome to Mount Prospect (October 28). Dale Draznin reported that invitations have gone out and
responses should be forthcoming. Commission members should be there at 8:30 a.m.
Winter Parade (December 9.5:00 p.m.). Newspapers are giving the event excellent coverage. The
Floros have heard from several businesses and organizations. Route begins at south end of the Maple
Street parking lot, traveling west on Lincoln to Emerson. Emerson north to Prospect Avenue and
Prospect Avenue northwest to Elmhurst Avenue where a large heated tent will be erected for
refreshments. etc. The Chamber is sponsoring a window decorating contest for the event.
Holiday Decorating Contest. An article will be in the next newsletter.
Fourth of July Parade. The committee is meeting monthly and is working on quality units, not necessarily
more. A theme has not been decided upon as yet. The 2001 Shining Stars will be asked to ride in the
parade, hopefully in convertibles.
Shining Stars. Laura Luteri reported that 9 nominations have been received.
Celestial Celebration (February 3,2001). Theme is "It's Magic." Lil is working on appropriate table
favors.
Lil read a thank you note from Terri Schroeder (nee Pistone) thanking the commission for the wedding
gift.
