MOUNT PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Minutes
March 3, 2001
ATTENDEES: Lil Floros, Leo Floros, Della Baldwin, Steve Durlacher, Janice Farley, Martha
Helm, Mike Janonis, Laura Luteri, Paul Seils, Laury Youngquist
Leo Floros called the meeting to order at 9:05 am. The minutes of the February 10,2000,
meeting were approved following the correction to eliminate the sentence referencing the
Park District with regards to the sound system. The Financial Report was presented and
approved.
Celestial Celebration: Lil read a thank you letter from Mr. Bob Paddock who had attended the
Event and had enclosed a check for his expenses. The financial report showed an excess of
$882.68 after expenses and disbursements.
Welcome to Mt. Prospect: The Spring event will be held April 28.
Fourth of Julv Parade: The committee is meeting on a regular basis and is progressing in
the selection of marching units.
Do-It-Yourself Sousa - 6/10: Laura Luteri reported that an announcement will be in the
May-June village newsletter. There will be a substitute for Ralph Wilder to lead
the band, and there will not be any t-shirts for the participants this year.
Discussion was held on the Special Events for 2001. Mike Janonis spoke about a Mid-
Summer Block Party to be held on July 28. Janice Farley and Laury Youngquist will
consider an Arts and Crafts show for 2002.
Lil reported that the next Special Events meeting will be held in May.
The meeting adjourned at 9:55 am.
