Minutes, August 4, 2001
ATTENDEES: Leo F. Lil F., Steve D., Laury Y., Della B. Jill H., Paul S. and
Corkie.
Lil Floros called the meeting to order at 9:07 AM. Minutes of the June 2nd
meeting were approved. Financial Report was reviewed and approved as
presented. Clarification: The disbursement to Bristol Court Banquets for
$ 2000 is for 2002.
Do-It-Yourself Sousa Concert
Li I reported that is was a great concert, with a good size crowd. We
discussed how we could get even more people to attend. Li I will correspond
with John Eilering (sp?) about how to increase participation. One idea
discussed was running Ads in the Herald.
Arts & Crafts. Summer 2002
Laury contacted former Arts Council members and obtained the Art Fair
Council booklet, which lists all the local art fairs in this general area for
2001. A sub-committee will be formed, suggested membership: Janice
Farley, Ken Fritz, Madeline Franklin, Leo Flores.
· Special Event Committee Members: if attending an Art Fair this summer
and fall, please pick up business cards from the various artists and give
to Laury. Also please pass along names of tocal artists to Laury.
Our goal is to have the Arts & Crafts event in conjunction with the village's
Downtown Block Party. This year's Block Party was a terrific event, and drew
over 5000 attendees. The hours for the Block Party were 4 - 9:00 PM.
Block Party date for 2002 is July 27th.
One item discussed was whether or not the local artists would want longer
hours. Laury will try to schedule a meeting with her sub-committee before
our next meeting.
