MOUNT PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION

December 1,2001
ATTENDEES: Lil Flores, Leo Flores, Della Baldwin, Dale Draznin, Steve Durlacher, Janice
Farley, Jill Friedrichs, Martha Helm, Paul Seils, Laury Youngquist: EXCUSED: Corky Dunn,
Linda Hoefert, Mike Janonis
Lil Floras called the meeting to order at 9:05 am. The minutes of the November 3.2001,
meeting were approved. The Financial Report was approved.
Christmas Parade - 12/1: The Parade details have been finalized. Thanks were given to Maura
Jandris for all of her organizational skills.
Holidav Decoratin!! Contest -12/3-10: Laury Youngquist distributed maps of the various areas
to the Commission members for their judging of outstanding homes. Awards will be presented at
the December 18 Village Board Meeting.
2002 Celestial Celebration - 2/2/02: Lil presented the caps and life jacket/napkin holders, which
will be the favors. The menu will be decided soon.
Shinin!! Star A wards: Leo reported that a record number of over 100 nominations had been
received before the November 15 deadline. He thanked Martha Helm for her assistance.
Arts/Crafts Fair. 7/27/02.3-9 PM: Laury Youngquist reported that she had met with Madeline
Franklin on November 30, whose opinion it was to charge the artists an entry fee of$60. They
hope to have a maximum of 10-20 artists and to include high school artists. Paul Seils will be
the liaison.
The meeting adjourned at 9:50 am.
