MT. PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes
September 3, 2005
ATTENDEES: Della Baldwin, Janice Farley, Leo Floros, Lit Floros, Jill Friedrichs,
Eileen Gattas, Martha Helm, Kathy Janonis, Mike Janonis, Jim Uszler
Leo Floros called the meeting to order at 9:12 am. The minutes of the August 6 meeting
were approved. There wasn't any Financial Report this month.
Bike Ride -10/1/05: Leo reported for Teresa Wolf and Bob Ancona that flyers will
soon be going out to schools. Proceeds will be donated to Holmes Junior High School
for their choral program. Teachers and students will be participating in the event.
T-shirts have been ordered, sponsored by the Mt. Prospect National Bank. Posters are
being prepared for distribution.
Welcome to Mt. Prospect - 10/22/05: The event will again be held in the Community
Room at Village Hall.
Winter Parade - 12/3/05
Holiday Decorating Event: Leo announced that the preliminary judging by
Commission members will be done between Saturday, December 3, and Tuesday,
December 6. Final judging will be completed the weekend of December 9-11. Awards
will be presented to the homeowners at the Village Board meeting on December 13.
Celestial Celebration XIII - 2/4/06: Lit announced the theme will be a circus "Mt.
Prospect... The Greatest Show on Earth".
Move the Schoolhouse: Leo reported that Norwood has agreed to do the foundation for
the schoolhouse, and the village will excavate the ground. When the building is actually
moved, a celebration event will be planned. Lil will be soliciting volunteers to help
clean, paint, etc..
