PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION Meeting Minutes July 9,2005 ATTENDEES: Bob Ancona, Della Baldwin, Dale Draznin, Jill Friedrichs, Leo Floros, Eileen Gattas, Martha Helm, Mike Janonis, Kathy Janonis, Jim Uszler, Teresa Wolf, Laury Youngquist Leo Floros called the meeting to order at 9:05 am. The minutes of the June 4 meeting and Financial Report as of June 30 were approved. Bike Ride - 10/1/05: Bob Ancona reported that Officer Bill Roscop and his police bikers will be assisting. T-shirts without a date on them will be ordered so any shirts not handed out can be used next year. Flyers and posters will be distributed. Commission members were asked to help with the check-in the day of the event. Leo reported that the Mt. Prospect National Bank has agreed to sponsor the event with a $500 donation. The designated charity will be for the purchase of oxygen masks for dogs in case of fire. A matching grant will be given from an organization that works with fire departments. Art Fair: Leo read a letter of appreciation from Mayor Irvana Wilks thanking the Commission and Teresa Wolf for her work on the event, and Jill Friedrichs for her work on the 4th of July parade. Teresa reported that the artists had been pleased with the day. Per Glen Andler, 63 spaces will be available for the 6/24/06 event. LePeep, Photo's Hot Dogs, and Capannari's had a deficit for the day. Jim Uszler made a motion, with Della Baldwin's second, to refund their $175 fee. The motion was approved. A suggestion was made to have a time slot signup for Commission members to work during the day, including more people to help clean up at the end of the day. Leo thanked Teresa, Public Works, Glen Andler, Jim Uszler, and the Park Districts. 4th of July Parade: Jill reported on the parade which was cancelled due to rain. Do- It-Yourself Sousa - 8/1/05: Martha Helm reported that music had been sent to 26 registrants. Flyers and posters have been distributed, and she thanked Eileen Gattas for her assistance. 500 flags have been donated by ERA Brokers, and Martha asked that Commission members be available at the event. Move the Schoolhouse: Leo reported that Norwood has agreed to help with the concrete foundation for the schoolhouse. The meeting adjourned at 10:10 am. Respectfully submitted, Martha Helm
