PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION Meeting Minutes June 4, 2005 ATTENDEES: Janice Farley, Jill Friedrichs, Leo Floros, Lil Floros, Martha Helm, Linda Hoefert, Kathy Janonis,. Paul Seils, Jim Uszler, Teresa Wolf Lil Floros called the meeting to order at 9:05 am. Following the correction of the spelling of Eileen Gattas' name and to eliminate the phrase "enough money has been raised to pour the foundation..." the minutes were approved. There wasn't any financial report. Art Fair - 6/25, 10am-5pm: Teresa Wolf reported that a final count of39 artists have registered and asked for those available to assist to be there between 7 AM - 1 PM. Toy Dump Trucks: Paul Seils reported that more trucks had been ordered and Glen Andler is storing them at Public Works. 4th of July Parade: Jill Friedrichs handed out a listing of the current 46 units which have registered. Reminder letters have been sent to those who have participated in the past. Public Works employees will be controlling the line-up. Do-It-Yourself Sousa: Martha Helm reported that the event will be held on Monday, August 1. Registration forms have been sent to the past participants. The downtown sign shows registration information. Music will be copied and mailed with the help of Eileen Gattas. Lil will ask for the donation of 500 American flags to be distributed at the concert. Bike Ride: Leo Floros reported that the Mt. Prospect National Bank will sponsor the event. Donations will be made toward the charity of masks for animals in case of fire. Move the Schoolhouse: It is hoped that Norwood will provide the foundation and basement. A painted school desk will be on display at the Art Fair, and others will be auctioned possibly in December.
