MT. PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes
February 14,2004
ATTENDEES: Bob Ancona, Dale Draznin, Leo Floros, Lil Floros, Martha Helm, Linda
Hoefert, Kathy Janonis, Jim Uszler
Lil Floros called the meeting to order at 9: 10 am. The minutes of the January meeting
were approved. The Financial Report as of February 13 was also approved.
Celestial Celebration: Discussion was held regarding the event and most all of the
comments were positive. Lil Floros read letters of appreciation from Robert Paddock, Jr.,
Della Baldwin, and Katie Dix of Capannari' s Ice Cream. Lil reported that Seventeen
Specialties, the company which had supplied the table favors, has moved to Schaumburg
and another company in Mt. Prospect may be used in 2005.
Welcome to Mt. Prospect - 4/17: Dale Draznin reported that the event will be held at
the Central Community Center. Gift certificates have been obtained as door prizes. A
suggestion was made to send a flyer with a welcoming letter to the new residents.
New Village Hall Celebration & Open House: Leo Floros reported that the Village and
Library will have their own open house celebrations in the Fall of2004. There may be a
celebration planned for the Spring of2005 in connection with a possible art fair or block
party.
Jim Uszler reported that the Chamber of Commerce Downtown Block Party will be held
July 31, and there will be an International Festival at the RexPlex on September 25.
The meeting adjourned at 10:05 am. The next meeting will be March 6,2004.
