MT. PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes
December 6, 2003
ATTENDEES: Bob Ancona, Della Baldwin, Dale Draznin, Corky Dunn, Janice Farley,
Leo Floros, Lil Floros, Martha Helm, Linda Hoefert, Mike Janonis, Paul Seils,
Jim Uszler, Laury Youngquist
Lil Floros called the meeting to order at 9:00 am. The minutes of the November meeting
were approved as written. The Financial Report as of November 30 was approved.
Winter Parade: Mike Janonis reported that due to the lack of funds in the 2004 budget,
the Winter Parade will not be held in 2004. The funds will be reviewed in June or July.
Meanwhile, the 2003 parade will have 43 units, including three choral groups along the
route.
Holiday Decorating Contest: Paul Seils requested the Commission members' choices
for awards be delivered to him by December 10. The final judging will be done and
awards will be presented at the Village Board meeting on December 16. The trophies
have been reserved.
Celestial Celebration - 217: Leo Floros reported that the committee will meet the week
of December 8 to decide on the Shining Star award recipients. Lil reported that plans for
the dinner and table favors are progressing well. She has sent letters to various
businesses asking for donations.

Discussion was held on the possibility of holding an open house of the new village hall
and library when they are completed in the Fall of2004. A committee of members of the
commission, the village, and the library boards will be developed to start making plans in
January, 2004.
The meeting adjourned at 9:50 am. The next meeting will be January 3, 2004.
