MT. PROSPECT SPECIAL EVENTS COMMISSION
Meeting Minutes
March 4, 2006
ATTENDEES: Bob Ancona, Della Baldwin, Dale Draznin, Janice Farley, Leo Floros,
Lil Floros, Linda Hoefert, Martha Helm, Kathy Janonis, Mike Janonis, Teresa Wolf,
Jim Uszler, Laury Youngquist
Leo Floros called the meeting to order at 9:02 am. The Minutes of the January 7 and
February 11,2006 meetings and the Financial Report as of February 28, 2006,
were approved.
Welcome to Mt. Prospect - 4/22/06: Dale Draznin reported that invitations to new
residents will be mailed the week of March 20, and advised Commission members to
advise her of any organization changes. Golf passes and various Chamber of Commerce
certificates will be donated and presented during the event.
Fine Arts Festival- 6/24/06: Teresa Wolf reported that there will be approximately 80
booths and experienced judges, high school and art studio teachers. Live entertainment
will be performing and Photo's Hot Dogs and Capannari's Ice Cream will be selling
food. Art scholarships will be awarded to five Mt. Prospect high school art students. A
motion was made by Linda Hoefert, seconded by Jim Uszler, to allocate $2500, $500
each to five students, from the Special Events funds. The motion was approved.
Do-It-Yourself Sousa: Martha Helm announced the date of July 31 for the Do-It-
Yourself Sousa event. She reported that Mike Golemo (aka John Philip Sousa) had been
contacted for the band's direction. Rehearsal will be on Sunday, July 30. More
information will be forthcoming.
Leo read his and Lil Floros' letter of resignation as Co-Chairs of the Commission.
The meeting adjourned at 9:32 am.
