i BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE ~F
MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: I
. SECTION ONE: That Section 20.202 of the Municipal Code of the Village of J:\!Iount I
I Prospect of 1957, as amended, be and the same is hereby further amended in its I
II entirety to reflect a Two Dollar ($2.00) increase per day for the cost of keeping I
II animals found at large; so that hereafter the said Section 20.202 shall be and read a,
II follows:

11 C. It shall be unlawful to permit any dog to be in or go in any food store or

I place selling food in the Village. " I
i SECTION TWO: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and after i s

ORDINANCE NO. 2711
AN ORDINANCE INCREASING THE FEES FOR
A.
It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police or other Police Officer to captur8j
and impound in a pound, to be secured by the Village, each and every I
I
dog found at large. I
I
1. The Chief of Police shall thereupon notify such owner of said dog so
taken, if the name of the owner is ascertained, and said owner shall
be permitted to redeem said dog within three days, by paying all
license and other fees then due and owed upon said animal, together
with the sum of four dollars per day for the cost of keeping such I
animal and the cost of advertising, if any. l
2. Should no redemption be made of any animal thus impounded, it shall
be the duty of the pound keeper to kill all animals so unredeemed at t e
end of the third day. I

B. It shall be lawful for the Chief of Police or other Police Officer to kill any I
vicious dog at large within the limits of the Village, which cannot safely I
be taken up and impounded.
