I .I ~ . i ORDINANCE NO. 2737 AN ORDINANCE CALLING AN ELECTION TO SUBMIT TO THE ELECTORS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, THE QUESTION OF INCREASING THE ANNUAL LIBRARY TAX RATE I FROM 0.15% TO 0.284% I ! ~ I WHEREAS, on the 11th day of August, 1977. petitions were filed with the Village II Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect requesting that the Corporate Authorities of 1.1 said Village call a special election for the purpose of submittin g to the legal voters I. residing within the corporate limits of the said Village the question of whether i! the annual library tax rate for the establishment and maintenance of a free public I library should be increased from 0.15% to 0.284% of the full fair cash value of the I property within the Village, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Local I Government Affairs of the State of Illinois; and I WHEREAS, the said petitions were presented pursuant to Sections 2-2 and 3-4 of Chapter 81 of the Illinois Revised Statutes (1975) which require Corporate I Authorities to submit the question of increasing the annual library tax rate to the I electors of the Village at the next general election or at a special election called I for the purpose of submitting this said question to the said electors; and ,j I WHEREAS, the Village Clerk has determined that the number of petitioners on I said petition are in excess of 50 legal voters of the Villa.ge of Mount Prospect, Illinois. and that the said petitions are otherwise complete and legal on their faee I and in conformity with the provisions of the aforesaid Sections of said Chapter 81 I and the other applicable provisions of the Illinois Revised Statutes; and , I WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees have determined to submit the I, aforesaid question to the legal voters of the said Village at a special municipal election to be held on the 1st day of October, 1977; and II WHEREAS. the Village Clerk has reviewed and determined the logical division of ! I the Village for the purpose of conducting an orderly election on said question. I I I NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, AS FOLLOIVS: I i I SECTION ONE: That the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount , Prospect find as facts the matters hereinabove set forth. SECTION TWO: That the question of whether the annual library tax rate for the establishment and maintenance of a free public library in and for the Village of Mount Prospect. Cook County, Illinois, shall be increased from 0.15 % to 0.284% of the full fair cash value of the property of the Village, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Local Government Affairs of the State of Illinois, shall be submitted to the legal voters of the said Village at a special municipal election to be held in and for the said Village on the 1st day of October, 1977. between the hours of 6 a.m. and 6 p.m. of said day. SECTION THREE: That for the purpose of said election, said Village shall be divided into ten (10) election precincts and the boundaries of said election pre- cincts and the polling place for each election precjnct shall be as hereinafter set forth in the form of notice to be given of said election. as such form of notice is hereinafter prescribed in Section Four of this Ordinance. I J SECTION FOUR: That the Village Clerk of said Village be and he is hereby ordered and directed to cause notice of said election to be given by publishing notice thereof once in the Mount Prospect Herald, the same being a newspaper published in said Village. The date of such publication of said notice shall be not more than thirty (30) days, nor less than twenty (20) days. prior to the date set for said election, and said notice shall be in substantially the following , form: . , , NOTICE OF ELECTION TO VOTE UPON THE TAX RATE IN AND FOR THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, SHALL BE INCREASED FROM 0.15% TO 0.284%. I II I' i I Public Notice is hereby given that at a special municipal election to be held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County t Illinois f on the 1st day of October, 1977, there will be submitted to the electors of said Village. the following question: Question to Increase Annual Library Tax Rates from 0.15% to 0.284% Shall the aIlnuallibrary tax for the maintenance and operation of a free public library in the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County t Illinois, be increased from 0.15% to 0.284% of full fair cash value the property in the said Village, as equalized or assessed by the Department of Local Government Affairs of the State of Illinois?
