RESOLUTION NO. 10-78 A RESOLUTION REQUESTING EMERGENCY AID FOR HIGHWAY REPAIR ON STATE CONTROLLED HIGHWAYS #12 & #83 WHEREAS, the extreme weather of the 1977-78 winter season has had a great impact on the pavement surfaces of certain State routes within the Village of Mount Prospect; and WHEREAS, U.S./Ill. Route 12 (Rand Road) and Ill. Route 83 (Elmhurst Road) have greatly deteriorated due to the freezing and thawing conditions; and WHEREAS, such deterioration has resulted in innumerable "pot holes" causing motorists to suffer severely damaged tires, wheel alignment, and lost hub caps; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has neither the legal right, nor the responsibility, nor the funds to repair the aforesaid conditions with its own forces, and must properly look to the State of Illinois; I I .11 I , NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That-the Department of Transportation of the State of Illinois be requested to make emergency repairs immediately, and advise this municipality of any permanent resurfacing which will eliminate this annual damage. I I: I! I II I I , I I I! II II II II I II II SECTION TWO: That State Senator David J. Regner of the Third District be earnestly requested to assist the Village of Mount Prospect in obtaining relief from the aforesaid conditions. SECTION THREE: That copies of this Resolution be immediately forwarded to the Department of Transportation, State of Illinois, and to Senator David J. Regner. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution be in full force and effect from and after its passage in the manner provided by law.
