HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 03-79 01/16/1979 RESOLUTION NO. 3--79 A RESOLUTION OPPOSING THE REQUEST FOR A VARIATION TO PERMIT AN "ADULT SKILL DRIVING COURSE" WHEREAS> there is presently pending before the Cook County Zoning Board of Appealf-1 an application for 8. variation from the Cook County Zoning Ordinance for the land located north of the Northwest Tollroad, Vlest of Busse Road in Elk Grove Township; and WHEREAS, said proposal has been docketed and heard as Docket No. 3231 before the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, Illinois; and WHEREAS, the corporate limits of the Village of Mount Prospect lie adjacent to and, therefore, within H miles of the land affected; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have observed the said application for variance as well as the proposed use to be constructed upon the subject proeprty; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect are of the opinion that opposition to the proposed variation is in the best interests of the Village of Mount Prospect and the citizens of Cook County; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect desire to exercise their authority and to file this formal objection in opposition to the p:;.~oposed variation as authorized by the Statutes of the State of Illinois and th.e Ordinances of the County of Cook, made and provided; NOW. THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY. ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, having reviewed the proposed variation to permit an "Adult Skill Driving Course". finds as follows: A. That the noise generated by the racing cars from the track or driving' course as well as the reflection of the lights (during night-time operation of the track) onto and into adjacent residential properties will constitute a public nuisance; B . That the increase in traffic will aggrevate present traffic conditions in the area; and C. That the developer has no plans and/or solutions for problems inherent in the proposed operation: water sou.rce and supply; sewerage; storm water retention; fire and police protection; and ambulance service. SECTION TV10: That theVillage of Mount Prospect, Cook County. Illinois does hereby oppose the variation to the Cook County Zoning Ordinance, as proposed under the Cook County Zoning Board of Appeals Docket # 3231. SECTION THREE: That upon the passage and approval of this resolution, the Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect be and he is hereby authorized and directed to file certified copies of this resolution with the Coun~1 Clerk of Cook County, with the Secretary of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, with the members of the Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook County, and with the President and Board of Commissioners of Cook County. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
