A RESOLUTION REGARDING PARKING AT CENTRAL & BUSSE ROADS RETENTION BASIN 11-79 WHEREAS, the corporate authorities of the Village of Mount Prospect on September 4, 1973 authorized an agreement to be entered into with the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago and the Village of Arlington Heights for the construction and maintenance of the flood control retention basin at Central Road and Busse Road to be known as the Mount ,Prospect Basin; and II WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect has entered into an agreement with the Village of Arlington Heights to share the Icosts of maintaining the grounds and operate equipment on the Mount Prospect Basin; and WHEREAS, construction of the Metropolitan Sanitary"District lof Greater Chicago's Mount Prospect Basin is now substantially completed and it is recognized that a need exists for addi- tional open space for recreational activities in the Mount Prospect and Arlington Heights area; and WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect recognizes the potential I for use of the Mount Prospect Basin as recreational space; I NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD IOF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, I ILLINOIS: i II" SECTION ONE: That the Village of Mount Prospect recommends to the Arlington Heights Park District and the Mount Prospect iPark District that preliminary plans be developed jointly Iby the two Park Districts for the layout of parking lots and I access drives to serve the site of the Mount Prospec~ Basin, " and that these plans be submitted to the Metropolitan Sanitary I District of Greater Chicago for consideration upon their com- !pletion . I ilSECTION TWO: That the Village of Mount Prospect requests the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago to ,consider the development of the open space at the Mount Pros- Ipect Basin into recreational areas and to provide sufficient I automobile parking areas and access roads to make the site I accessible to the public. I SECTION THREE: That the Village of Mount Prospect will co- I operate with the Arlington Heights Park District and the I Mount Prospect Park District and the Metropolitan Sanitary jDistrict of Greater Chicago in the planning of automobile I parking areas, access roads and recreational activities for the Mount Prospect Basin. 1111 SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force land effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
