HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 13-79 04/17/1979 4/12/ ." - f/caf '-', RESOLUTION NO. 13-79 A RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE VOTES CAST AT THE REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD APRIL 3, 1979 AND DECLARING THE RESULTS THEREOF WHEREAS, a regular Municipal Election was held in and for the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 3, 1979, for the purpose of electing three Village Trustees (for 4 year term)and three Library Directors (for 6 year term); and WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect have canvassed the votes cast at the said election and are ready to report herein. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY ILLINOIS: SECTION ONE: That said regular municipal election of April 3, 1979, was duly held as provided by law. SECTION TWO: That 3,866 ballots were cast in the following manner: FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEE - Three Edward J. Miller Theodore J. Wattenberg Gerald L. Farley Ralph W . Arthur Edward B. Rhea, Jr. NUMBER OF VOTES 2,483 2,085 1,984 1,776 1,726 FOR LIBRARY BOARD - Two William M. Blaine, Jr. Anthony J. Tolbert III Melvin E. Krumrey 2,603 2,286 1,616 SECTION THREE: (a) That inasmuch as Edward J. Miller, Theodore H. Wattenberg, and Gerald L. Farley received the greatest number of votes, they and each of them are hereby declared elected to the Office of Trustee of the Village of Mount Prospect for 4 year terms, commencing May 1, 1979. (b) That inasmuch as William M. Blaine, Jr. and Anthony J. Tolbert III received the greatest number of votes, they and each of them are declared elected to the Office of Library Director of the Village of Mount Prospect for 6 year terms, commencing May 1, 1979. (c) That all the foregoing officials so elected shall qualify in the manner and time prescribed by law. SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
