RESOLUTION NO . 1 7 - 79
A RESOLUTION IN SUPPORT OF THE EXISTING
RTA BUS ROUTES
WHEREAS, the Regional Transit Authority (RTA) has proposed reduction in
the bus service on Route 83 to Randhurst Shopping Center (RTA Route 332)
within the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the bus service to be discontinued is vital to all the residents of
the Village of Mount Prospect; and
WHEREAS, the aforementioned service is particularly essential for many of
the senior citizens residing in the Village of Mount Prospect, since many do
not have any other means of transportation; and.
WHEREAS, discontinuation of the RTA Route 332 would mean increased use
of private cars, resulting in waste of energy; and

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES 1
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: \
I
SECTION ONE: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees do hereby oppose the
proposed discontinuation of RTA Route 332 due to the inconvenience it would
cause to many residents of the Village of Mount Prospect and surrounding areas.
WHEREAS, discontinuing the RTA Route 332 would cause considerable
inconveriience- to residents living in senior citizen housing developments,
specifically those residing on or around Route 83, within the Village of
Mount Prospe.ct. .,
SECTION TWO: That the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mount Prospect do hereby call upon the Regional Transit Authority
to re-evaluate the proposed discontinuation of RTA Route 332.
SECTION THREE: That the Village Clerk is hereby authorized and directed
to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Members of the Board of
the Regional Transit Authority.
SECTION FOUR: That this Resolution shall be in full force and effect, from
and after its passage and approval in the manner provided by law.
