AN ORDINANCE AME:N1HNG ORDINANCE NO.
2180 AND ORDINANCE NO. 2181
"lHEREAS, the General Assembly of the State of Illinois has adopted SB 736 (Public
ct 80-1292), effective August 2, 1978; and
VHEREAS, said Act amends Sections 8-11-1 and 8-11-5 of the Illinois Municipal
ode; and
\THEREAS, said amendments provide that certain described manufacturing
achinery and equipment is excluded from the Retailers Occupation Tax and the
'ervice Occupation Tax; and
THEREAS, it is the desire of the Village of Mount Prospect that such machinery
nd equipment remain subject to said taxes.
OW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES
F THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:

BCTION ON~: That Ordinance No. 2180 is hereby amended by adding thereto
n additional section, Section Seven, which section shall be and read as follows:

SECTION SEVEN: The exclusion contained in Section 2 Cd) of
the "Retailers Occupation Tax Act" approved June 28, 1933, as
amended, shall not apply to property within the Village of
Mount Prospect. II
ECTION TWO: That Ordinance No. 2181 is hereby amended by adding thGreto
n additional section, Section Seven, which section shall be and read as fo11o\-'...-s:
"
SECTION SEVEN: The exclusion contained in Section 2 (e) of
the "Service Occupation Tax Act" approved July 10, 1961, as
amended, not apply to property within the Village of Mount
Prospect. "
ECTION THREE: That the Village Clerk is hereby directed to transmit to the
llinois State Department of Revenue a certified copy of this ordinance on. or
cfore December 31, 1978.
ECTION FOUIt: That this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from and
fter its passage, approval and publication in the manner provided by law.
