RESOLUTION NO. 28-05
A RESOLUTION DECLARING THE RESULTS OF THE CONSOLIDATED ELECTION
OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT HELD APRIL 5, 2005
WHEREAS, the Consolidated General Election was held in and for the Village of Mount
Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, on Tuesday, April 5, 2005, for the purpose of electing one
Village President for a four year term, three Village Trustees for four year terms, and three
Library Trustees for six year terms; one Library Trustee for a two year term, and
WHEREAS, the following advisory referendum question was presented to the electors of the
Village of Mount Prospect, "Shall the three vacant lots at the southeast corner of Emerson and
Central, across from the library and commonly known as Central Park, be retained by the Village of
Mount Prospect as a park?"; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect do hereby declare
the results of the April 5, 2005 election for said Village.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE
VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS:
SECTION ONE: That pursuant to the Consolidated Election Laws of the State of Illinois, a regular
election was held for the Village of Mount Prospect, Tuesday, April 5, 2005.
SECTION TWO: That an official canvass was conducted on April 2O, 2005 by the Local
Canvassing Board for the Village of Mount Prospect declaring that 6,997 ballots were counted as
follows:
Villaqe President - 4-year term
Irvana K. Wilks
Scott E. Stassen
Ernest A. Lasse
Villaqe Trustee - 4-year terms
Timothy J. Corcoran
Michael A. Zadel
Richard M. Lohrstorfer
William O. Walters
Library Trustee - 6-year terms
Jacqueline C. Hinaber
Dale Barbara Draznin
Richard T. Tani
Library Trustee - 2-year term
Laura L. Luteri

Referendum Question:

SECTION THREE: A) Inasmuch as Irvana K. Wilks received the greatest number of votes,
she is hereby declared elected to the Office of Village President of the Village of Mount Prospect
for a four-year term;
B) Inasmuch as Timothy J. Corcoran, Michael A. Zadel, and Richard M. Lohrstorfer, received
the greatest number of votes, they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Village Trustee of
the Village of Mount Prospect for four-year terms;
C) Inasmuch as Dale B. Draznin, Jacqueline C. Hinaber, and Richard T. Tani received the
greatest number of votes, they are hereby declared elected to the Office of Library Trustee of the
Village of Mount Prospect for six-year terms.
D) Inasmuch as Laura L. Luteri received an uncontested number of votes, she is hereby
elected to the office of Library Trustee for one two-year term.
E) Inasmuch as 6,997 ballots were case on the subject advisory referendum question, the
votes were cast as 3,833 YES, and 1,333 NO.
SECTION FOUR: The Village Clerk is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution
to the Cook County Election Department and the State Board of Election Commissioners, as
provided by law.
SECTION FIVE: This Resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
approval in the manner provided by law.
